I had a similar problem in the past on these strips while making a Christmas truck. My problem came when cutting in cleaning the strips as I unintentionally twisted the section breaking the track to one of the leds.

As the strip is one long circuit board, sharp twists or kinks can break a circuit or even cutting the protective layer off with a Stanley knife can unintentionally sever a connection. Normally jiggling the dead strip would make it flash on and off and then you could fix it at the break.

Thanks for that I'll keep an eye to make sure I'm not bending it
too much.

I've found that when I cut the strip and slide it into the connector
it works fine, but I'm having trouble after I
close the connector. It seems to be damaging the
strip somehow (looks like the 2 little pins to secure the strip are damaging the
little silver chip........?)

Also should I try to out some silicone in these
joiners as I close them up?

I'm all of a sudden finding a severe dislike for rain!!!

Instead of clamping them shut, try soldering them, test, then apply some silicone.
I'm feeling your pain about the rain. I held off setting up my tree and other elements yesterday, planning to do them today and of course we have the wettest day in 6 months.

I like to use double sided tape or sometimes I put little staples around the frame. If it is on the outside of the window, then the learn seo. Thanks for sharing
