Hey everyone. Newbie here to the world of pixel lights. I figured is 2021 so this year I want to go absolutely epic in the world of Christmas Lights. I've built a couple of Kulp controller boxes and have added a few differential receivers and all the components are working. To say I've been spending way too much time watching Xlights tutorials after the kids go to bed would be an understatement, but this has been loads of fun. The most challenging part has been procuring all of the parts, so it has been a bit of order here, order there when available.

For this year;'s go around, I will be putting up a 4m megatree, 8 leaping arches, runs across the eaves along the house, 60 peace stakes and multiple coro props. I will also be re-purposing some of my older props by removing the old incandescent strands and replacing with pixels; reindeer, spiral trees and such.

We have a pediatric cancer charity that is near and dear to our heart, so my goal is next year to put together a bit of a block party as a fundraiser. Hopefully by then COVID will be a bit more under control and I actually get good at this :) At any rate I'm excited to be part of this community and I am sure I will have many questions.

Cheers,
Kevin.

HI Kevin welcome to ACL. Sounds like a pretty decent first year display already, make sure to share your progress or reach out if you run into any issues.

Welcome to the world of pixels - I'm a newbie too. This year it's only my second year. Sounds like a very good plan you have. Hope the supply chain will not keep you from getting things up and running

Welcome. It is definitely a lot of fun for sure. I've had materials coming in a bit piecemeal from various vendors. I'm using xconnect plugs for my setup, so I've had to get creative in source my lights from Amazon and soldering on pigtails, but I figure that is half the fun...to a point :) On the flipside, I figure this year is a bit of a test run and I'll have a better list of items I need for next year. At least I'll be able to order early right? Anyways best of luck with your setup as well and may the supply chain gods be ever in your favor.
