first up I gotta say what a fantastic group, not in my wildest dreams did I think there would've been such a fantastic knowledge base locally in Australia (yeah righto, bit short sighted I know but with the major YouTube videos all based in America I made this very very poor assumption)

my goal is a hobby that obviously will take a fist full of time and money but its true to one of my favourite things electronics. Timeline is nothing special as 2018 is a while away but there's so much to learn and test.

once again Hi and thanks for letting me be part of the group, and apologies for any stupid questions that will more than likely come from me

Hi FarmWorkerBoy - Welcome to the madness. I joined at the start of the year and as I have found there is no such thing as a stupid question. Only thing stupid is not to ask a question. There are lots to take in with all the different types of hardware, lights, software etc. You can always drop by chat as well. And as far as 2018 being a while away - in this hobby it will creep up fast.

Welcome to ACL FWB! Plenty of helpful folk around if you have any questions. Have a read of the 101, flick through some threads and start your own if you have a rough plan of what you're after, or jump into chat at any time. Always someone lurking about in there!

Always someone lurking about in there!
LOL That sounds suss.

Welcome to the site where you develop the C.L.A.P
No such thing as 2018 a while away.
2016 ended and I immediately started on my plans for 2017 and started construction late Jan and have been going ever since.
Mind you I have a huge Landscaping job going, but that was also part of the blink thing plan.
Great to start with a blank canvas.
I too started with boxes of traditional lights and they compliment my newer controlled lights.
I have DUMB DC pixels as opposed to a lot of people having Smart Digital pixels.
No matter which way you go - it will be awesome.
Ask as many questions as you like.
There are so many people willing to help and share ideas and construction techniques.
This my friend, is an outstanding community.
Enjoy your new found disease - its incurable
