Welcome to ACL, you will get all the info you need here to get a great musical display going for 2013. Start with the ACL 101 lighting manual which should help you start to understand all the components needed.

thanks guys , my mrs has given me the christmas light bug , but I want to take it further , I'm really keen to see someone's setup if they live somewhere near the gold coast/northern nsw or surrounding areas and would be interested in showing me on a sunday (only day I have off) before they take down their lights this season .
David_AVD I'll probably take you up on buying some gear next year but as I'm a complete newbie I don't know yet what I want or need to buy, but I certainly would like to have at least some small show going for 2013
there seems to be a lot of great info here I'm reading as much as I have time for , also I would like to participate in the mini's in 2013 in brisbane if I can get enough notice as to when they are on
