Having a hard time finding a better picture but on the left side is my garage. Both sides of it have a brick facade that goes up to the roofline. I want to do a seed pixel matrix over both sections next year(2026). I know I can easily just do a rectangle matrix but I would like to go all the way to the top. Is there a way to make a rectangle matrix or would I just have to make a custom model for the whole thing or just the triangle and group it together with a normal matrix. I may have to break it up into sections to get around the house light in the middle or just replace the light from October to January.

ok I thought about this some more, a custom model is going to be the best way.

you can do some shenanigans with icicles or megatree model, but its going to be a lot of messing about. custom model is going to be the way to go.

Technically it is possible to make a triangular pixel matrix. Boscoyo makes a triangle mesh you can check into.

I looked at using icicles but the wiring would be a little messy. I’m not worried about building it. I’m just going to build it like I built my window matrices this year. I used a pvc frame with hardware cloth. I really like how it turned out. Also makes it easy to replace bad pixels because there is a backing to attach the seed pixel to so I don’t have to get the wires cut and soldered perfectly to keep the distance correct. I’m just trying to find an easy alternative in Xlights. If I have to I’ll just build the prop then build the model after I’m done with that. Though maybe I’ll look at getting some of the 4 wire icicle seed pixels and use the icicle prop to build that section in Xlights. Then just invert the model. Do I have to connect the v- from top to bottom as well to make that work? If I do can I just connect all the grounds across the top to make it easier.
