We are getting on internet service changed over to the IPv6 today. It uses a different protocol address. Is this going to affect the way you assign an address to the above?

No. While your ISP may be switching you over to IPV6 that doesn't mean all communications will use IPV6. You should still be able to leverage IPv4 for your internal network communications and legacy devices and general internet.

I think IPv6 officially went live on the Internet sometime in June. The FAR majority of the Internet will continue to leverage IPv4 for some time to come :) The problem is there haven't been any more IPv4 addresses for quite some time so people are switching over to IPv6 to get additional address space.
