Kids School Project 2013

Hi Guys,


Just thought I would drop by and show you what I have been upto with my kid. Last year you might remember he built a circuit with flashing lights for his school project.

This year we thought we could do better. So after some breadboard design and writing some PIC code we came up with this.

I hope I can convince him that this would be a good career choice.

Just out of curiosity what is the 2nd chip. 1 will be the pic and the 2nd a ULN2803 led driver or similar?

@AAH Yes its a ulm2803, used to switch the columns of leds, cathode side. The circuit uses multiplexing to make the columns of leds look like they are on all the time.


@Bird Thanks, will be sure to let him know. Was fun spending time with him. He soldered the whole thing himself.
