Nice walkthrough. The wirenetting version you have done for "pixicles" is a great idea and certainly would stop them being blown around in a wind. Not to mention make a great matrix.

I originally got a couple of the 250mm sized fittings from Bunnings 3 years ago. I made the same style barber pole from 150mm pvc pipe and also mounted a few dumb rgb modules and a 3ch dmx controller inside the sphere. I used these to mount a couple of power supplies and controllers.


I wanted to get a couple more in November but Bunnings have dropped the range. Appear to be able to get them through just about any lighting / electrical supplier, (where to buy link on crompton web site).

Thanks for that. Local bunnings said no, but now I have an item number they might be able to chase it up through TLE.

Thanks Dave, very informative for a nubie. Working on my first display. Got 11 months to get it done. Think I'm going to run out of time!!
