When I try to run nutcracker on my local machine, I get the following error in gallery tab

This is because there are no animated gifs om your machine.


I did not include the 3000 animated gifs with the zip file.


Once you are local u no longer get to see what everyone else is doing


I have been asked if I could provide those animated his. I am thinking how to do that.


Two choices
1) download the 500mbyte file with the gifs
2) have a button that walks thru all 3000 entries in your database and rebuilds them

What about throwing it up on a Dropbox account specific for Nutcracker and share it out?

Thats right, 3000 animated gifs as around 2.5 gbytes. Those animated gifs get written to 500 time pers day. If i used a dropbox, i would need to check how fast i can naviagte through the directory structure.


I could do this, but firt projects, single strand targets, horiz matrix.


easier is to make a button that will recreate the gifss from the database user_effects_dtl.
The bad things is this could take 12-24 hours to run. You would only do it once.


drop box has the advantage to always stay current, just need to verify it can perform everything i need. i also estimate that i will need close to 4gbytes by nov. dont know if there is a cost for that size.

Yeah, it costs for 4GB. Sounds like a button is the way to go. Click and let run overnight!
I also posted in another thread that the members SQL table is populated with user info and passwords. The php crypt function doesn't salt md5 hashes, and I easily found 12 username/password combos from pre computed hashes for most that I spot checked. Since people often reuse passwords elsewhere (forums, email, banks), this is probably not a good thing to distribute. Is it possible to set the passwords to a fixed value and anonymize the user info (in all the tables) before uploading for distribution?

(also, I saw some opportunities for SQL injection. When I get a chance, I'll look closer an PM them to you. Certainly don't want your web host compromised!)
