A few of us were discussing a flickering lamp effect in the chat room a while ago.

The desire was to have a fairly realistic looking lamp and light fitting, but with the ability to flicker / dim it.

After the mod, the lamp behaves as a simple low wattage 12V LED, so can be easily controlled.

The controller could be a standard DC controller driven from a sequencer, or a dedicated flicker board.

I've done up a project page on da-Share with all the details but here's a couple of pics.

I do really like this idea .could be even cooler if you could produce a sound effect for the flicks like in the horror movies TZZZ TZZZT TZZT .
must comment though seems odd as we usually are trying too stop lights from flickering !
