Greetings Everybody,

Have long wanted to be apart of this exciting community! Started ordering stuff a couple of years ago and have never got the Mega Tree rocking! More than ever I would like to distribute smiles via the Mega-Tree - this year - I know, may already be too late for this Christmas . It may be safe to say that I need a tutor or a few tutors (and my head examined).

Electronics: This is the controller https://sandevices.com/product/e682-assembled-tested/ I guessed that this was the place to start. I would have said assume but you know what that spells. http://sandevices.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/E682_Operating_Manual.pdf. So I start reading the manual and page 2 is blah, blah, blah..."up to 170 pixels or 510 channels (3 channels for each pixel)". With the lights on hand = 4,480 leds / 560 pixels.

16 rope lights = 5m DC24V GS8206 IC(similar to WS2811 IC) 56LEDs/m 7pixes/m) WHITE PCB led digital strip;IP65;in frosted silicon tube. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32827169718.html

Also have a T-1000S LED sd card pixel controller, that the Pixel LED manufacturer said would work https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1202295883.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000023.1.466672c6DtYuKL or should I get another controller shipped overnight? Something a little more capable to make up for the problem sitting between the keyboard and chair. Something Falcon?

The ends of the rope lights both being wired 5m apart. Power supply = Mean Well HLG-600H-24A, need an outdoor box going between 120 and 32 @ 24a outputs (16 at top of LED ropes and 16 at the bottom, bottom of rope lights will be about ~5 feet off of the ground - should I daisy chain controllers?). This Mean Well power supply has a 5v data output for the show control board (at least I think it works that way). https://www.meanwell.com/Upload/PDF/HLG-600H/HLG-600H-SPEC.PDF

Average December temperatures around here, Victoria BC Canada, are 8°C/3°C can be as warm as 21°C, with 13 days of rain expected, there is strong wind as well.

And just because it is fun to say 4,480 LEDS (all running to the beat of your favourites), 560 pixels = sourcing scripts suggestions?

Curious for your thoughts

David at pixelcontroller.com suggested the F16V3, do you know any tutorials similar to the mess I'm in?
Cheers

The GS8206 pixels are not too common. There are a few individuals that have indicated they have them. Yours being 24 Volt is more unusual. The T1000 controller is as I understand it, a stand alone generic sequence type of device. I have something similar but use it only for testing and seldom even then. The Meanwell HLG supply has more capability than what is generally necessary I think. Most individuals here use Meanwells but stick with something in the LRS or RSP series.

Quite a few individuals here like and use Falcons which includes me. xLights is popular as well. Your environment is not a large concern as there are a number of other Canadian ACL members that have displays in snow and cold temperatures.

I would suggest if you have not yet, download/read the ACL 101 Manual. Also browse/search the other ACL pages, that is the Wiki, archived Forums, Media, and Display Videos to see what and how other's displays are designed and devices used.

Does anyone of you awesome people have the spec sheet for the 5m DC24V GS8206 IC(similar to WS2811 IC) 56LEDs/m 7pixes/m) WHITE PCB led digital strip;IP65;in frosted silicon tube https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32827169718.html

TerryK thank you very much for your response. It is a bit of a unique situation, certainly a challenge for my current skill set. The Falcon F16v3 should be here early this week. It is "ready to go" (their words not mine) with pigtail ends.

Any insight or guidance or general chit chat is graciously appreciated. The millions of smiles this community delivers can't wait to contribute.

Thank You
Dan

A GS8206 Datasheet is difficult to find. http://genesis-systech.com/page132?_l=en&product_id=16

There is a little information in the ACL Wiki regarding that device. A web search for the device will produce better results if Genesis Systech is added as a search term to GS8206. I located 2 or 3 sites but none describe it well, pretty vague actually. Also, the device TM1914 is apparently similar to the GS8206. While uncertain, there seems to be similarities also to the GS8205 and GS8208. Perhaps by assimulating tidbits from these various sources you can make it work.

Greetings

The F16v3 is ready to go!

Once again Great advice TerryK, it was passed around, discussed, and acted on. Much Appreciated

Finding the wiring diagrams (5m DC24V GS8206 IC(similar to WS2811 IC) 56LEDs/m 7pixes/m) WHITE PCB led digital strip;IP65;in frosted silicon tube https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32827169718.html) is proving to be difficult. Closest found so far is the GS8208 (attached). Suggestions always welcome.

Does anyone have an outdoor box suggestion for this type of rope light?

Thank You very much for being part of such an awesome community!
