Need some help here please.

I am expanding my MegaTree this year from 16 to 32 strands. I will be using one controller with 16 outputs. I need to inject power but have a quick question. From a data wiring perspective, I assume the data has to go as show in the attached OPTION 1 picture and the OPTION 2 won't work. And is there a good 32 strand plan out there that covers this?

So OPTION 1 means I have to run the data line from the top of the strand back down to the bottom?

I assume I can't just split the data line at the bottom as in OPTION 2?

If needed, I am using 5v 2811 bullet nodes and an AlphaPix controller.

Option 3 (and the one often used) is to physically reverse every second string to the data jumps are short.

Then you reverse every second string logically in the software (xlights, etc).

I hope this drawing makes sense. I think this is what you recommend.

Yes, data like that. You can power it all from the bottom if you like.

Powering each set from top and bottom however can reduce voltage drop across the strings and give you a more uniform colour.
