We are usually the last to get sorted so why not get in early for the Melbourne 2018 Mini.

Wiki page for the mini can be found at - https://auschristmaslighting.com/wiki/2018-Mini-Melbourne

We need to work out a Date, Are people happy with a similar time frame as last year? 12-13th of may or 19/20th time? Feel free to throw out some other days that may suit you and we can add it to the poll.

Once we get a date locked in we will have to see if CNC design is available again to use or we may have to move venues!

If you don't know what a mini then have a look at the wiki and Christmas mini forum. It's a great weekend where you will learn much more in two days than in months looking on the forum. There are many displays and presentations.

19th/20th suits me best (mrs birthday weekend prior) however I *may* (i stress this hugely) be travelling interstate for a mini this year by popular request :) (*subject to minister of finance approval)

We will need to find a suitable venue however, as with previous years being hosted at CNC Design no longer available.

Will be good to catch up on a lot, my only mini I attended was back 2013 I think. Bought some boards from someone and ordered parts from the states but then my circumstances changed. But looking to return and start up again.
Lol still have old boards.

I'm not fussy on the dates and will probably be a starter. I'll have more new stuff to show off. Bendigo would make a great venue. Statistically it makes sense. It's at the geographical centre of the state :D :D :D

In my opinion it is pointless talking about dates until you know what dates you have a venue for.

Just going by previous years that we get a date sorted and then check if it suits, but I have messaged Bruce beforehand Via PM but he hasn't been on since December so I'm awaiting a reply!

Bruce is moving locations and stated this last year so I can almost assure you CNC is out of the question.

Ok last year it was up in the air like that too. So let's work out a location. Does anyone have a suitable spot, Alan has offered Bendigo, I can offer up a place in Ballarat but it would be easier for everyone if it was central to Melbourne. A quick search has come up with a few options. Does anyone have a preference for a location.

I think either at Albert Park or St. Kilda better for being more central (I could be selfish and say Highett cos it's closer to home, but I expect there will be some travelers from up north!)
Powerhouse on Albert Park Lake looks like it might have better access for parking??

I mite be looking at it wrong.. but Albert Park has no weekends

Correct, I set only weekend dates but it must not have set it correctly - they have a heap of wedding functions etc on weekends I didn't click to that. Ill see what else is around that area

Im awaiting a call back on another venue at Albery Park for weekend hire

I like the look of Desk workx in St Kilda but as you said that venue has poor parking being right on St Kilda road. Ill keep looking!
