It's coming to that time of year where we need to start planning for the Victorian mini. We are about 95% locked in on the date/venue (5/6th July - first weekend of the school hols). But we need to get on with planning everything else that needs to happen to make an event like this run.

The Victorian mini is very much a community effort. A key thing that we are always looking for is new presenters. If you've got something to share - we would love to have you present or run a break-out group. This is a conference for everyone and has a mix of presentations from beginner level to advanced. (A special call out -- if 2024 was your first year doing pixels -- we would love to have a "my first year retrospective" presentation).

Beyond the presentations - there is a bunch of other ways you can help. Contacting Vendors and sourcing door prizes and giveaways, helping with the catering team, organising a social dinner on the Sat night, running the registration desk or timekeeping on the day... If you want to help but don't want to talk in public - there are still ways you can!

To kick-start out planning - we will have a planning session on Friday 4th of April, at 8pm, in the xLights Zoom Room. (In a dedicated breakout room). If you'd like to help out (or even just provide feedback on topics to cover, etc) - we would love to see you there.

PS - if you can't make the planning session on Friday 4th of April, at 8pm, in the xLights Zoom Room -- but you have a way you want to help out (or just have topics you would like to see covered) - send me a message with the details or put it in a post below.

I'd love to join and throw my few cents your way (still in the air whether I can make it or not) - but wont make the 4th. Birthday beers will take precedence :D

I encourage anyone who can help @thewanderingpine here organise the mini to do so - it was beautifully executed last year by the team that did it - keeping in mind, they are just regular forum members like you and me.
