Ok heres what we have decided for this year, we are only going 3 meters for our mega tree. Due to standing in the yard with a 5meter pole with tape set at 3m-3.5m-4m only to find that with the house and what is going on the roof 3meters was the better height. So i proceded to cement in a base sleeve in the ground then went to make the bottom ring, easy stuff just use 25mm conduit and 4 "t" peices join together roll in to a ring and done easy hey. WRONG SNAP the "T" peices broke.(heart broke at the same time). So the question is what do other peep use for bottom ring i want to raise it off the ground so the tree looks like it is sitting in a pot.
Any thoughts would be a great help

You could always to to heat the pipe a little and curve it around a similar diameter object to stop the pressure on the T pieces.
