Do you knew of the WS2812's come n 12 Vdc and not 5v?

Because the 2812b has the chip inside the LED then these will always be 5vdc as thats the design of these. if you want these in 12vdc then you will have to use the ink type strip which has a little buck converter every 1 metre on the back of teh strip to drop the voltage from 12vdc to 5vdc. So effectively these strips when used as 12vdc can only be cut every 1 metre

If you want 12vdc with a smaller cut distance then you have to use the 2811
