Need help with DMX output on P12S

On my P12S I firmware v3.3 and have configured the DMX outputs as Universes 13/14. I have a standard cat5e cable connected to an RJ-45 jack that is wired directly to an Easy 27 channel DMX controller. The DMX controller is not receiving a DMX signal from the P12s and the NIC isn't lit on the P12S. I understand that DMX signal is only sent through orange / orange white pair, but shouldn't the NIC on the P12S at least light up to show connected devices. I haven't moved any jumpers around since receiving the P12S.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? I'm new at this so I'm pretty sure it's somthing that I'm doing here.

Yes the lamp will light on the RJ45 socket, have you activated the universe in the P12S and your sequencer software? I couldn't get mine talking first off and it was a case of ticking activation.

Sorry guys, I was out of town for a couple of days and couldn't get the configs sooner. Here are some screen shots for the P12S config and also how i soldered the cat5 wires to the 27 channel DMX controller.

Hi Jeff your 27ch board doesn't seem to have the DMX - connected at all and therefor will never work.

RAY27%20J12%20CONFIG.jpg

and in your keep alive paremeters in the config set the DMX ones to
dr-4.PNG

also in your pic you have 2 wires joined together. Is this for DMX in/out plugs or have you just doubled it up?

Superman, I was re-soldered the 27ch board and only used single wires this time with the 568b standard. I was doubling up so I could use it for a DMX in/out, but switched to single wire just to see if I can get this thing going. I also changed the P12S board settings to 30,0,0,512 as you described.

The P12s is still not sending a DMX signal and the NIC is not on. On the 27ch board there is just a solid red light.

Does the P12s have to be powered a specific way to give the NIC power? I am using Option 3 - 7-36VDC shared supply method (two jumpers on the P12s board VI to +V and +5 to VO).

Do I have to have change around the jumpers on the P12s?

Yes I made the changes to the P12s as superman suggested. The intervals have been changed to 30, clear cnt = 0, total cnt = 0 and initial universe size is 512.

Thanks for all the suggestions up to this point. I know its not easy trying to help someone troubleshoot without getting your hands on it. I really appreciate all the help.

So as of now I have re-flashed the firmware to v3.3 and made sure the ASIC Info was 3.3 LP035 for both ports. Universe 13 and 14 are enabled for DMX. I verified with a multimeter that "D-" on the J12 goes to Pin 2 on the cat5, COM goes to pin 7 and "D+" goes to pin 1. I've even tried multiple straight thru Cat5 cables, but still no luck.

On the 27ch DMX controller, I have a constant red light and I have the jumper 1 turned on (all other off)

For the life of me I have no idea of what else to try to get the P12S DMX NICs to turn on. I know it must be a simple setting somewhere or jumper, but I am clueless at this point. :-\

if you come into chat tonight and download teamviewer I will have a look for you and see if we can get it sorted

I too am having the same problem here - i've followed all the steps up until now - hopefully i can grab someone to help me through it in chat...
Jeff did you ever get a solution to this?
