New controller from J1sys

I just received my P12D and one nECG-DP2 this afternoon in really pretty Christmas wrapping paper from Ed!
The DP2 is small! I could fit 3 of them with the cases inside a regular P2 case I think!
Can't wait till this weekend to try it out and see how it works!

I put 3 of them in the show this year to run them through a real world test......

Here is one outside of the case with the fused outputs board mounted to the top of it.......

Andy what is that fused output board called please? I want to order one to play with myself.

Honestly I would just call it the DP2 fused top board. It fits perfectly on top. I dont think Ed gave it an official name. I do know last week I bought all of them he had hehehehehe. I'm sure he will get more though.

Here is another angel of it........

Okay Thanks.
I like your leads going out the right side on it. What are you using there?

Thats just some ribbon cable and pins put on there so I can quickly plug them up and unplug them without a small screwdriver...

Ah, I thought as much but wanted to be sure. Have to did out some of that ribbon cable I have stashed away in a storage box I guess.

Thanks for great info and pictures!

There are some other things on AH's first pictures, any info what these are for? And what's the PIX-T-A?

Any idea how much power you can pump through that board?

So help me understand. I am new to this. I have read the quick notes and if I understand it correctly, if I am using 12 V I will be back feeding the power through the greenie? Pin1 and 6

If I am using 3 wire pixels with both Port 1 and 2 configured for Single Ended use, then I would configure as follows:

(Port 1 example only)

Pixel ground in Pin 1
Pixel Data in Pin 3
Pixel Voltage in pin 6?

I assume that is not right as we used pin 1 and 6 for 12v Power.

Can someone help me with this wiring?

I believe I have the jumpers right. Photo attached.

Your jumpers look good for 12V. Backfeed your voltage on 1 & 6. Attach your data line to 3, if using ws28xx. Power you pixels fom the power supply. Hope this helps.

Wooooohooooooo. P12S looking after 4080 pixels... looks like the one for all my house outlines..... oh yeah... but now the question will be should I go the P2 or the new DP2 for my display matrix, will need 2 of them... man I am excited now. But after all my planning it looks like we may be moving house in May. Still plenty of time to move everything around.

Get the DP2, of course. I d believe it's cheaper also. It also has more features

Having both a P2 and a new ECG-DP2, you will want to buy the DP2 (in my own opinion).

It does what the P2 can and more and is the "logical extension" of the P2 from Ed. He is working on upgrading his line and it has the improvements that will help in the long run.
