That's what I was thinking, maybe they do it with a light show software and then it controls the fireworks detonator so cool

I doubt that they use light show software.


They work on that display all year and probably do some testing elsewhere.


They probably use professional firework synchronisation software.


There are some moving heads and DMX fixtures on the Eye and on the barges that the fireworks are shot from.

Sydney got their timing right for fireworks.....you could hear the firing being seconds before the visual explosion in the sky which was right on cue
