So with a few adjustments after an oversite on channels and software control my mini trees have now become dumb pixels due to programming (YIPPEE) so i have saved myself 1029 channels so now i will put more strings on my mega tree the mega tree is now up to 27 strings of 50pixels still same amount of channels just more pixels used Thanks Steve

Can someone confirm, but don't you need something like a dc board to control dumb strips? For 16 trees you'd need board with enough channels to control 16x3 (48) channels, excluding the other dc stuff you wanna run.

There's a few options for controlling dumb elements. They basically are LOR or DMX controllers or the pixel to dc controllers that I make. These are the 2801DC and 2811DC boards for the 2 different pixel chipsets. If you used LOR DC boards there's every chance you'd be running them as dmx anyway so you'd be better off buying a dmx dc board in the 1st place.
