Hi,

My wife and I enjoy setting up Christmas lights every year and next year we're thinking of adding pixel lights into the mix, I've got a background in IT and electronics so this will be a cool project for me. I have already poked around in the forums and I've found a lot of useful information.

Welcome, and make sure you have read the 101 manual as it is an invaluable source of information.
I too had a background in electronics and a very good understanding of I.T. but this hobby has a few things that were foreign to me.
Remember the only dumb question, is the one you don't ask.
Also, careful as this hobby can be very addictive.

Hopefully Perth can get a Mini happening next year, so all you like-minded WA blinkies can get together and swap ideas and tips.

I have only just bought my first set of pixel lights running off an Arduino

Welcome to ACL, This is a great hobby to get into. My wife and I also really enjoy lights, its great working as a team.
