This post really has nothing to do with Nutcracker, it is a general list of Christmas songs.

In DIYC there was a thread about "What songs are you using this year".
    http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?21058-Lets-talk-Songs!&p=220947#post220947]http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?21058-Lets-talk-Songs]http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?21058-Lets-talk-Songs!&p=220947#post220947
Almost 200 songs were posted into the thread.

i decided that i could use this list of songs in nutcracker for my projects.

    so ...
i have parsed all of the songs from the emails, eliminated duplicates, loaded them into a database. There were 162 songs. If a song was done by multiple artists, they get their own row. Regular polls would probably not work so well for this many entries so i built a form.

    Go to http://meighan.net/nutcracker/effects/xmas_songs.php]http://meighan.net/nutcracker/effects/xmas_songs.php]http://meighan.net/nutcracker/effects/xmas_songs.php

Click on every song you plan on using this year (If you are ryan johnson your wrist will get tired from the clicking)

Submit the form and your vote is tallied. The more people who do this, the more reflective of the overall usage of songs in sequencers. Look under the "Votes" column to see the current count.
A user can only vote for one song once, but you can vote for all 162 if your are going to be really busy.

If people see errors, post them here or pm me.

also when referring to a song please reference my SongID, it will make it easier.

Please post the URL's to amazon for listening to these songs, this will make it easy for people to browse the Christmas Song library.

    thanks

I have added links to nearly 85 more songs.

    Now:
    167 total songs
50 do not yet have link to the music.

If you know the llink to a song, could you post it here?

Please include songid and link. That makes it easier for me to know I am on right row

Hmmmmm.....Some very interesting bits and pieces there.

How about "Mistress for Christmas" by AC/DC from the Razors Edge album. You can buy the album on Amazon but not as a download.

From the looks of your existing list it would fit the Rock and Roll night fairly well.....

Sorry I couldn't put it into the Nutcracker site directly, but I'll be a few years from being able to make use of it.....(the demo at the Brisbane mini looked pretty cool though!)

    Cheers!

OK - I'm surprised that I haven't seen this before or thought of it.

Wild Signals by John Williams http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Signals/dp/B0013AIUH6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1346626585&s=dmusic&sr=1-3

From the soundtrack of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" - this is the tune used when the scientists are first trying to contact the aliens. The five tone tune lends itself easily to two show elements "talking" back and forth and is extremely easy to sequence.

I'l be using a short portion of the tune (the initial question, question, quesANSWER etc) to start my show.....

    Cheers
