Old solar props - convert to RGB

i have a lot of old Reindeer that move their head and just have white flashing lights, with a solar controller,
i want to convert these to 5V RGB Seed pixels,

i was planning to just follow the orgirnal layout of the white LED lights, as it wraps around the reindeer frames,
but should i just use them as single lines in Xlights, or should i try and custom model them via xlights, they are 3d wire frames, can xlights import videos with 3d wired lights or do they only do 2d imports ?

It depends on the effects you want to do. If you want to say have coloured bars going across them that align with the show, then you have to do custom model.
If you're happy with just end to end chases and/or basic effects then you can use single line. You can submodel out various parts of the reindeer if you want a bit more explicit control.

Automatic model detection+creation I believe is 2D only, but you can create them in 3D using the editor.

I have 3 reindeer and a santa that I have converted to pixel. The plan has always been to map them but it's been 4 years for santa and the first reindeer and 3 years for the other 2 reindeer and so far I've actually just had them running off pixel testers with a butterfly style effect over them. Maybe this year I'll map them.
