I'm planning to add about 100 stars to my house this year. All over columns and above the garage.
15 pixels per star. Each star is 150mm wide.
Planning to use primarily for whole house effects in sequences.

Is it worth doing 100 of the star model, or should I create one custom model per column?
And is there a copy/paste option somewhere for replicating models in a group?

Make them individually and then put in groups I've done the same but for the roof I made mine 300mm with 16 pixels one in the very center of the star as a sub model.

Individually. Whilst it's a bit more work upfront initially, it means you will be able to do some easy stuff with groups and Per Model effects.

You may not use it from the outset, but it gives you the power now without having to stuff around with submodels later. Plus you get the native rendering for a star then.

I don't believe there's a way of selecting multiple models and copying them, however, just paste your 100 stars, align them, lock their positions, and you're good to go.
You can select multiples and add them to groups in bulk, so one per column, one for 'All Stars' and adding to your Whole Display group etc.
