Are all the other letters and numbers exactly the same?i have a 34V version, should be the same, 8 modes

JT-DC36V6W-E1-IP44 and a JT-EL/FC31V12W-I1
Ok, thanks but they are not interchangeable?JT-DC36V6W-E1-IP44 - this is 36 volts, 6 watts and IP44: An IP rating of IP44 means that a device is “protected against solid foreign objects of 1.0mm Ø and greater” and is “protected against splashing water”. In other words, water splashed against the enclosure from any direction will have no harmful effect on the device.
JT-EL/FC31V12W-I1 - this is 31 volts, 12 watts and would seemingly be an indoor unit only 'officially' if it's not IP44 or better rated.
Definitely not interchangable as they're different voltages.Ok, thanks but they are not interchangeable?
Also, what does the DC and EL mean?
Ok, so you can't interchange if different voltages then. What happens if you do - I thought it just meant that the lights weren't as bright?Definitely not interchangable as they're different voltages.
DC typically means Direct Current, however they are both DC as they switch AC (240v home electricity) to DC for the lights.
I would be guessing as to what EL means, closest google gets me is EL: Electroluminescent wire, is a stiff wire core coated with phosphor and then covered with a protective PVC sheath. Or just Electroluminescent.
Or it could just be propriety and something that means something to that manufacturer.
