Hi
A lightning strike took out my power supply JT-DC36V6W-E1-IP44. I have searched everywhere online and cannot find the matching one. Any suggestions apart from buying a whole brand new light?
Thanks.

not the same, but its for 2 wire, DC Lights , as i dont need it as i use DC2-24 to power it
im in penrith if you would like the power pack

I might sound dumb here but what is the difference between a JT-DC36V6W-E1-IP44 and a JT-EL/FC31V12W-I1. The first one is what powers a Merry Christmas rope light and the second one is what powers the icicles - why are they different?

JT-DC36V6W-E1-IP44 and a JT-EL/FC31V12W-I1

JT-DC36V6W-E1-IP44 - this is 36 volts, 6 watts and IP44: An IP rating of IP44 means that a device is “protected against solid foreign objects of 1.0mm Ø and greater” and is “protected against splashing water”. In other words, water splashed against the enclosure from any direction will have no harmful effect on the device.

JT-EL/FC31V12W-I1 - this is 31 volts, 12 watts and would seemingly be an indoor unit only 'officially' if it's not IP44 or better rated.

Ok, thanks but they are not interchangeable?

Also, what does the DC and EL mean?

Definitely not interchangable as they're different voltages.

DC typically means Direct Current, however they are both DC as they switch AC (240v home electricity) to DC for the lights.

I would be guessing as to what EL means, closest google gets me is EL: Electroluminescent wire, is a stiff wire core coated with phosphor and then covered with a protective PVC sheath. Or just Electroluminescent.

Or it could just be propriety and something that means something to that manufacturer.

Ok, so you can't interchange if different voltages then. What happens if you do - I thought it just meant that the lights weren't as bright?

Reason I ask, is that I bought a replacement for the EL version and plugged it into the light that used the DC version, now it won't work at all.
