I've developed the idea that a lot of these pixel strings are insulated with plain PVC. I wonder how long this will last out in the hot Aussie summer? Does anyone have field data on the longevity of these strings and what do you do to prevent degradation by UV light? It occurred to me that Armor All spray on protectant might be useful in this connection? Anyone have further ideas?

the technicolor pixels are UV protected,, but not enough usage and data is out yet on if they are good. Plastic dip sells a clear UV dip...I have thought of trying that when I bring the lights down this year
I have some that have been used for 3 seasons and all they have done is gone a bit yellow and lost some colour on the string, otherwise they don't seem brittle and good for at least another few season. Rays pixels have definitely improved in quality since then
