hi all , so i will give you all a quick run down on what im trying to make happen, at present i have a snow machine that is only turned on when pressing a button on the control pad ( meaning it has to be look after all night long to be activated) i was told that some members run a remote power board to turn on and off their machine, however there is a small time delay as to when the power comes on the unit and we have to wait for a green light ( usually about 5 seconds after turning on the unit ) before you can press the snow button. Holding down the snow button and turning on / off the power via remote doesn't seem to work for us. The button needs to not be pressed when power is turn on before you get a green light to say its good to go. That being said is something else out there i could try? pic's added ,thanks all

just use the timer function?
only problem with that is it will go off when there is no one looking at the lights , sometimes we sit inside for 10min to ourslef and watch outside on the cameras, if there is people outside then we could use a wireless remote of some sort but having no luck a this stage

I wire a mains 240v PIR in the middle of an extension cord to turn the unit on when there is motion, although this method can false trigger itself and never turn off.
But this won't work for you with the delay on startup and with the button held down.

Another option, I can see is that your snow machine should have DMX. Have an external control through xlights?

When I get a chance, I'll open the remote on my Beamz Fog machine (exact same as pictured) and see what's inside that could be hacked into.

I would love for beamz to make something like the Chauvet WMS (wireless motion sensor).

I thought you might say something like that.

One of these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DC-12v-...l-Switch-Transmitter-Receiver-AU/271810084971
is what you need, IF you want to hack into the controller box and IF the manual button is just a momentary button and its' NOT connected to 240V. You'll also need to power the relay board with 12V.
This could totally work tapped across the green 'manual' button. Otherwise the motion sensor version for automatic operation.

I've always thought of having something like a 'try me button' with a big button and large countdown display. My snow machines have been hacked with an Arduino with added low fluid shut off and soon my try me button.
