So... there's no way I can afford commercial RGB anything.

I have nine 80cm tall Mini Tree frames:

I was thinking of buying 18 strings of 100 LED M5's from China in each color of R B G W - about USD650 + shipping - and using 2 strings on each mini. Control the 36 channels with Lynx Express.

But with all the great stuff going on in the DIY community with RGB, I thought wow... for that kinda dough maybe I could build my own RGB something for the minis for this year... like a pixel strip on each leg... 6 legs/mini x 9 minis = 54 strips. Where did I see those pcb strips with the hole so that the pixel can be seen from all angles?

Lots to learn and consider... any suggestions as to "how-to" would be appreciated.

Hi John

Waiting for updates.

As you know I want to convert my Micro trees over to RGB leds instead of incandescent mini lights.

Cheers

I'm trying to find 12vdc or 24vdc RGB strings but they seem difficult to find. The ones on Rays site are 220vac and the RGB ones are only halfwave with no rectifier so not a good option. If i find something ill then share it on the posts here.
