Hi XL Gurus :)
I have a projector which accepts commands through its DB9 serial port connector, and was wondering if there is a way XL can control this?
I’ve hunted for scripting advice but have not had much luck. I plan to have a media player on loop feeding video to it, but would like to schedule the projector to turn on/off to save its' lamp (and power!)
[/size]Any ideas?

working on doing that with a FPP using the projector plugin, mine will be TCPIP likely, but they have serial support in the FPP.

FPP and a Pi will definitely do it and a heap of controls already exist inside FPP for many brands of projectors.

If you want to use a computer you can use David_AVD's Serial Scheduler This program is also really good to test your Hex codes for your projector control.

Superman.. you rock! I think that program will work a treat :)

FPP control sounds great.. hopefully someone will work out serial over tcp/ip for older projectors without an ethernet port.. actually would be really nice to use a wifi esp module to do this.

I use USB to serial converter for my projectors from the Pi. Works a treat
