Hi Folks,

Well it is that time of the year again and we are planning our next Christmas display.
We have just moved house so will be starting from scratch again.

Hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction.

I need to replace a heap of icicle lights that we hang from our gutters, I recently bought some from eBay to try but found that all of the lights on each hanging string stay on together and do not give the waterfall effect.
ie. they only flash along the string (eg left to right) not top to bottom

Is there some icicles out there that give the waterfall effect. My old ones were from BigW and worked well.
Will be using with the LOR DC controllers.

Hope this makes sense, and thanks in advance.

Shane

I think what you are referring to is what are known as meteor lights. I think I saw a post saying that Bunnings have these out at the moment.

Many years ago I do recall a version of icicle lights where the drops operated in unison, dripping down as you describe. All the ones I've seen from the past 5 years or so are the awful left-right shifting type though.

The meteor tubes are all independent, so the dips are not synchronised. I like them better that way anyway.

Thanks Guys, appreciate your help, I will check out the meteor lights.

I did find some correspondence online that refers to cascading icicle lights, but it led no where.
The old BigW lights had a good life.

I will continue my quest.
Thanks again
