If it was me, I'd make sure I had something else up my sleeve to replace it. If he is found guilty then it's probably not going to sit well with people taking children to see christmas lights. Some may even misconstrue the playing of the music as some kind of support.
I understand your despair after spending so much time working on it and getting it just right but.... well, just my opinion of course but I'd ditch it. I wouldn't want my display associated by the music with someone charged with such offences (especially as a parent).
