It says in the manual to use 60/40 solder. Can you use lead free solder or what are the uses for lead free solder.
 
Forget about using lead free solder. You don't need it and it will only cause you pain.

Lead free solder is only required for RoHS legislation mainly in European countries.
 
Thanks David. I gather it is hard to work with or can result in less than perfect connections.
 
Yes, lead free solder can be fussy to work with. Much easier to get a good joint with leaded.

The 63/37 type is even better to work with than 60/40 by the way. :)
