Hi there team,
I've been late to the game but glad I'm finally here. Looking to start simple but I know my display will grow.
I am doing something wrong at the moment I would love some assistance with. I know it's probably in previous threads or so simple it's not even asked but it's my first attempt. I'm just not sure on what to search for.
So I'm putting together my items and using 100 pixel lengths. However some of my displays are over the 100 pixels. So I plug one set of pixels into the next. I understand about power injection however at the point of joining no data (lights turning on) is going through when I test it. Both sets work independently however when joint only the first 100 pixels light up. How do I create a line of pixels longer then the 100, do I need different leads from the controller, or is it the there is a data end at on the final pixel? Not sure what it is.
I'm testing it through my falcon 16v4 controller using the test button. Is anyone in Western Sydney open to showing me the ropes so I'm not going down the wrong path.

I dont have a Falcon so don't know for sure, but does test mode do more than 100 pixels at once? My pixel tester only does 300, I also setup my props in FPP and test there, have you tried that?

I haven't even thought of that. I did try and run my single tree of 140 pixels through xLights but couldn't figure out why it wasn't working either. So I thought I would start with this problem first. These seem to my my only two problems thus far but I will try your suggestion.

It sounds like the falcon controller is default at 100 pixels per.port. Log into the board and change the number of pixels. Alternatively and the best is to upload your models from xlights and it will assign the correct number of pixels per port for you. Then you can test from xlights or from the falcon itself.

Sounds like you need to configure your controller to have more pixels per port. The xlights zoom room is also a resource you can use to obtain help. xlights.org big blue zoom meeting button

Thanks for this. Will check tomorrow

@JacksonHo @darylc @Godfree2000 @burnt thankyou for your help. I did a quick test and made a 10 string and put it at the start of a full 100 string. Bang working bar the last 10 in the full set which means it's default is 100. You were all right. I really appreciate your help. Stupid simple questions when starting a new hobby.

Glad you got it all sorted, don't worry we are all new at some stage and lucky to be able to learn from the awesome people here. Ask questions as you need, it is a rewarding hobby but can be complex.
