Hi all,
Unfortunately, I need to provide an update regarding the Sydney Mini 2026.
Despite securing the venue for 4th / 5th July, and putting the call out for volunteers to assist with organising, no one has been able to step up to take on the lead coordination role required to make the event happen.
As many of you know, I’ve been upfront that this year I don’t have the available time to manage the planning, coordination, meetings, scheduling, catering, communications, and all the moving parts needed to run the mini properly.
Without someone available to lead and coordinate those efforts, the Sydney Mini 2026 is cancelled.
This is disappointing, but it’s the realistic outcome given where things currently stand.
If someone (or a small group) would still like to take ownership and run with it, I’m absolutely happy to hand over everything I have, share previous planning information, and assist with venue liaison where possible.
So while the event is cancelled for now, the door is not completely closed if the right people are willing to pick it up quickly.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Sydney Mini over the years.
These events have always existed because of community effort, and hopefully that spirit can return again in future years.
Mike / Skymaster
