We used to connect multiple 12V power supplies in control system boards for redundancy, BUT they were matched power supplies (i.e. when loaded they both had a similar droop), carefully tuned and tested, and all the wiring was short. Otherwise you can get large currents flowing between power supplies and let the smoke out!
