I have just taken delivery of some 350W *STARLIGHT MINI* Moving Head.
In xlights i can get them to pan, tilt spin ect
but
I cannot get the light to come on.

Any suggestions?

I have followed the instructions published on Ink creations web site and the same on YPS website and used the model from Fazio Family Lights

I have used the model from BF Light Shows - YPS Starlight - ADV.xmodel

Set the Shutter and Dimmer channel to 255.
If no light comes out of them, then it means the bulb is off. So you will want to put a dmx effect and put the bulb channel (channel 16) to 205 for about 10 seconds. This will turn it on. Then it should show if you have Shutter and Dimmer channel to 255.
After you are done playing with it, send 105 on channel 16 for about 10 seconds to turn the bulb off ... you can test by sending shutter and dimmer again and no light should be there.. Then let the fans cool it down for 15-30 minutes before turning the fixture off.

didnt work

Further reasearch
BF Lightshows & Ink Creations say
Lamp on DMX 203 for 5-10 Seconds
Lamp off DMX 103 for 5-10 seconds

So tried 205 as well

Still no luck
Have I missed something?

You are putting the dmx effect at the wrong spot. remove all effects (the on and dmx effects) .. Then Place a dmx effect on YPS Starlight - Adv. Then on the DMX settings you will see the channels will be named there and wont just show Channel 1 - Channel 2 etc . (you could potentially leave it like you have it now but as you are already placing the effect on the explicit channel, you then need to use Channel 1 slider.. hopefully I explained that well enough - best to use the dmx at the model level).
