I have some arches and I have set up chases going across the arches (so a strip of red going from one side to the other). At the moment all other pixels are off so you can only see the red strip going across. I would like to turn all pixels that aren't part of the red strip to a cyan colour. So it looks like a strip of red moving across a cyan background.

Every time I try and past the cyan over the red chase the red chase disappears or changes colour. I've tried using paste from foreground, foreground effects, background effects but nothing works. Has anyone got a tip on how to achieve this.

Have you tried using the fill key?
To make your chase, use the cyan colour before and after the red.
Now use the chase key, picking up the cyan colours as well as the red.
Fill the remaining areas you require in cyan using the fill key.

Thanks John. It won't be perfect as the red chase comes down and starts back up without a gap for the cyan but I reckon I can make that work with some cutting and pasting later. Thanks again.

Just tried it. With a little manual labour it does the job, thanks John.

Glad to hear it works for you. Nothing like a bit of manual labour to get things just right. If it was easy it wouldn't be so gratifying, ::)
