Just removed the 240Vac rope light from some Crazy Clark's (Go Lo, The Warehouse, etc) Christmas motifs.

Both shapes I got (bell and cane) use 1 metre of rope, made up of 34 lamps in series.

The Santa's LED Lights 24Vdc rope can be cut in 125mm increments, so 8 sections will fit neatly.

Maybe this will work out for larger motifs too.

The motifs were $3.50 each on special, so a cheap way to get small wire frames the correct size. :)

Anyway, I thought this info might help others that are "metalwork challenged" !

OK, just replaced the 240Vac rope light on my $3.50 bell motif with the 24Vdc type. It uses exactly 1 metre of rope light which is also on a cut line. :)

You have to face the LEDs outwards though as the rope doesn't bend sideways very well. I'll cap one end of the rope and add a cable tail to the other.

In the brightness department, the LED is brighter than the old 240V rope when you look at the sides (directly at the LED face), but from the normal viewing angle they are much the same.
