I would just like to know if I am doing this right or if there is a better way.

I have a mini tree that has 6 led light strings controlled with 6 DC channels.

Each string is 100 LEDs.
2 x blue
2 x white
1 x blue/orange
1 x red/green

Please don't ask why I have constructed the tree this way.

In Vixen I created 6 elements and grouped into a Mini tree group.

In the preview editor I have had to lay down each of the 6 elements on top of each other as they are on the one mini tree.

Is this the correct way as it seems silly putting 6 triangles representing 6 strings on top of each other?

Is there an easier way?

Please remember I am new to lighting and Vixen 3.

Thanks in advanced.

Create the element as one item.

In the element setup column, select the element and then down the bottom click where it says dimming curve and change it to color handling.

Next slick on the gear next to color handling. This brings up a dialog box.

Select 'they can be multiple colors independent'. Then click on edit colors.

Click the green '+' button to create a custom color set based on your strings.

Save and open sequence. Now when you drag an effect to that element and double click on it you have discrete color options.

It's a bit of work, but only needs to be done once and then it is set for all sequences.

Thanks for that, I will still need to have two trees on top off each other as there are colours (2 x blue) that need to be on different channels. Least it cuts it down from 6 to 2.

Cheers for the help.
