What acrylic tube does

Hey Michael - I see earlier you quoted about $30 for shipping is that per tube or for a couple? If its for a couple id love to grab 3 plus postage to Victoria 3356 depending on shipping if you get time to give me a price that would be awesome if not i might be able to get a rough estimate!

This weekend is the big weekend. I have all my helpers organized and I'll will be bending all my arches. 40 to 50 of them. Those of you who still have tubes with me they should be bent by this weekend. Wish me luck and I'll take some photos to prove it did happen.

please give supply/delivery cost to post code 5011, for 2 of them, if any left. thanks
I'll count them on the weekend but I'm pretty sure they are all accounted for. Sorry

Big day in the sun bending the tube but it's going great. I cut a PVC pipe in half to support the tube while pouring the sand in that I heated on the BBQ. Then me and my helper lifted the tube into the mould. The tilted the mould up and poured out the sand. Now I have a stack of arches. It took 5 hours to do 20 arches though.

Any idea what temperature the sand needed to be to melt the tubes Michael?

Anywhere between 130 and 160. Any hotter than 160 it goes like cooked pasta. Less than 130 and it's just to hard to bend if at all.

Hey mate how long did you let the sand sit in there before bending the tubes? Thanks mate, first tube didnt go down that wel, ran out of hot sand, wasnt really setup smartl, second tomorrow and much better prepared...

Don't let the sand sit for too long. Heat it up to 130 to 150. Poor correct amount of sand in as fast as you can, then put it on your mould straight away. The sand heats the tube pretty quick. The. Once in the right shape get the sand out as quick as you can. I put duct tape on the end and when it was the correct shape I sliced he duct tape open to let the sand out.

If you leave hot sand in the tube too long it's like a wet noodle to pick up so work fast and have a mate help you. And make sure you have enough sand with a wide mouthed funnel to poor it in.

So do you have any of your bent ones left you feel like swapping for some straight ones, lol? I tried yesterday and today and 2 tubes now gone... only 4 left and this is the number I need, just not having any luck at all bending them

Anyone want to upload pics of what they did with their tube.
