This question has come up a few times on what is the best type of cable to use for low voltage RGB lighting is.
I and many others have found that using 4 core security cable is a cheap and useful cable to use, It is double insulated, colour coded, comes in 4 core and 6 core versions and also comes in 2.2 amp and 4.4 amp rated cable and is sold in 100 metre rolls
So you now ask where do I get this security cable from. Well there are several sources, I just went down to my local electrical supplier and bought my rolls but you can get it also online. I found the below links to be of great value for Australian residents and the price per roll is actually cheaper than my local supplier charges (plus shipping).

7/020 size cable

This cable size refers to the number of strands (7) and the size per strand (020). This cable is rated for approx 2.2 amps and come in 4 and 6 core.

4 Core 7/020 cable $25.00

6 Core 7/020 cable $42.00

14/020 size cable

This cable size refers to the number of strands (14) and the size per strand (020). This cable is rated for approx 4.4 amps and comes in 4 and 6 core

4 core 14/020 cable $42.00

6 core 14/020 cable $62.00
