Working out spacing for pixel strip the easy way

So Ive had quite a look through the builds for mega trees and one thing I've noticed is alot of people seem to guess the spacing or go about working it out the hard way so I thought I'd share some maths to make this easy.

Is a simple equation of D x π ÷ deg ÷ strings

You would do this as follows. For a 180 deg tree with 16 strings

Diameter of base X Pi ÷ 2 ÷ 16

1200 X 3.144 ÷ 2 ÷ 16 = 118mm

And for a 270 deg tree with 32 strings it would look like this

2500 X 3.144 ÷ 1.3 ÷ 32 = 188mm

This just makes for getting them bang on the first time with no buggering around.

Sorry if this is somewhere already but I couldn't find anything while searching and I'm sure this will help someone else like me with OCD get it perfect

Hi @hamish, the mega tree calculator at Mega Tree Calculator | Tools | LightShowHub.com does a pretty decent job at calculating the string spacing and sizing of the tree. If you play around with some of the metrics, it works it out quite well. Thanks for the above, I will fine tune my end results to be exactly spot on so my wife's OCD doesn't get triggered :)
