The new XL4 really shows the difference between "Create Random Effects" and Shift-"Create Random Effects". If you hold the shift key down we create a random effect on the first model and copy it to all the models you have. This way every model has not only the same effect but the same colors. Here are two pictures showing the difference

audacity label tracks all will work fine.

There is a bonus in that you load up multiple tracks
    beat track
    bar track
    voice track
    trumpet track
    manual marked track
    .etc.

in xl3 we had just one import of timing and then it was difficult to change. you would edit the times in teh first column. That would change very model./

Now timing tracks are use to put marked across the mdoels. click bar track and drag and drop a spiral, the effect will set its start and end times to match the timing marks. turn that off and turn on mamual marks. drag and drop a bars effect, it snaps to teh start and end time of the current active timing marks.

after dropping, grab handle for start or end timing marks and tweak them.

you will like it, much easier

but yes, all audacity timing marks will work as you expect
