Hi all, I am looking for something a little different for Spiral Trees for our display this year.

I have seen lots utilise the normal strip wrapped around the tomato cages and yes does look good. I also used pixels attached to builders strapping last year and yes I was happy with the result but I would like to try and copy how air seeder tube arches but for spiral trees.

I have had a quick look at trying to coil the air seeder tube and due to the tight radius required near the top of the spiral tree it won't work to well (well for me anyway). I also had a quick look for some suitable translucent type tube but cant seem to find anything local which could be suitable.

I was then curious has anyone used the below strip?

Or is there another similar type "neon looking" strip you could recommend on using for spiral trees.

Thanks

I know what you mean about the look of strip / nodes on a spiral tree. The linked product looks nice. Expensive though.

It probably won't suit that purpose. It's flexibility is mainly sideways, along the narrow profile, not backwards against the widest profile. More suited to replacing rope lights on wire frame motifs etc, I feel. Bunnings do stock a 24 volt neon strip in warm white and cool white if you wanted to risk thirty bucks to have a trial. I used the cool white to make a five pointed star for 2018.

I used this exact neon strip to make my mini trees this year. Wrapped them around tomato cages from Bunnings and in my opinion look much better than any other method i have seen because the strip is visible as a continuous strip from all angles (front/left/right/rear). I would recommend the neon strip to anyone who prefers the "air seeder tube" look.

You will need to power them from both ends.

Do you have a pic and possibly a link to the actual strip you used, thanks

That would be "dumb" strip. The OP is looking for pixel strip.
