Great deal on stepped drill bits at Bunnings

Is that a warning for the Craftright bits in particular?

I use my step drill bits for sheet aluminum and diecast aluminium as well as plastics.

just that brand. I tried them and used on a metal case which instantly ruined it. i have since spent decent money on quality bits.
Like I say, if only plastic etc, they are fine

I've used my Craftright step drill bit on 3mm alum flat bar and had no issues...

I have a Unibit brand one which has drilled maybe as many as 10,000 holes. The 1 time I drilled aluminium with it it lost it's cutting edge on the tip and I've never managed to sharpen it up as nice. My unibit one has 1mm steps rather than 2mm but I reckon I will grab one of the Craftright ones and be very cautious about what I drill.
