Nothing wrong with a 5V mega tree.
1x350w runs my 32 x 50 node 140deg 20-30%. 4x400 @ 40fps (1600)
I power both bottom and top of every string.
if you know a sparky get them to price one from their local wholesaler and shop online.

Any reason for powering each end of the string at that % ? Seems like a lot of unnecessary cabling/ pigtails/ soldering. Just curious

It may be extra cable and extra work but I do not get any voltage drops on any string.
Each end top and bottom are not that far from each other so 1 wire for each set to the top = 4 extra wires from the psu at the bottom of the tree is a total of about 4 x 3m.
This is the way I do it, as I know I should not have any voltage drop and it helps in my view to keep the data as clean as possible.
As in Bill’s rules 50 for 5V and 100 for 12V
Mine is every start and end of every string.
It works for me, it may be a little over the top, but it keeps me and my own OCD happy.
