Seed Pixels in Aust ?

Buying from AliExpress is cheap and fairly quick to arrive into AU/NZ from China.
My last order of 3,000 5v seeds from HTKL on AliExpress took 11 days.

Yes i will do the right thing and go with Ray. I had the rent money here though - well if i can get them tomorrow.... haha
Whats everyone getting the 5cm or 10 ?

I got 10cm for my mega tree of them, and used alternate nodes to make it like 5cm. (Post #3).

Recently I got 5cm to try.... this is the lowest spacing I would go. 2.5cm and 1cm seem very hard to solder and apply heat shrink to.

i have been getting 12v 5cm seed pixels from the ray wu store on aliexpress.
they usually arrive in about 9 days to wa.

so far they have been good, the wires are a bit thin but overall i am happy.
these are 2 of the props i have made, now i am working on hdpe arches and some other things which will all use the seed pixels.

Im thinking of using these to outline the house. Anyone found a good clip to use with them?

I feel like I am getting ripped off with those pixel poppers. $80 including postage for 1000 pieces of plastic but no other option

By the time you add the seeds (assuming 3000 purchased = $440 inc GST), 3000 poppers $240

Thats $680 for 3000 seeds inc poppers, or $0.226ea
Pixels are not that much more, and way more robust.

If you can get away without using poppers it looks a little more attractive.

Yeah, $680AUD is steep for 3000 seeds.
Compared to $271AUD is cost me for 3000 5v seeds delivered in 12 days..

3D printing your own is not very cost effective (filament and power to run it).

I’m seeing 1000 bullet pixels at $430ish so it still works out about half price.

looking at the available pictures of those poppers i created these so if you have a 3d printer you can make your own.

there are a couple of different types for holding the cable tighter and shorter ones to save on time and filament.
