For the most part I put a xConnect pigtail on the end of the string so I can daisy chain the prop to something else. In emergencies and in a rush I have used heat shrink tubing with glue to seal the end off. While I like the thought of liquid electrical tape just not for outside where it can peel and flake and still expose the end of the string to weather and corrosion.

If I don't plan to connect anything to the end of a prop, i'll crop the wires and put on a bit of glued heat-shrink tubing, heat that up and squeeze the end to seal it together, I repeat this for each wire.
OMG, look at how many lights you have 🤣🤣, something to aspire to.
judging from that, you know what you are doing... guess i'll be doing that. lol

I mean it's fine for 5-24v but anything more I would be using something more robust, I would not for example be doing that for anything 230v mains powered. I am an electrician so can confidently say, don't just leave live ends hanging out!

So everyone's cut their cable at some point.
I'm at the stage where I've got a custom prop and have 100 Pixel Strands, but only need 82.

What are people closing the end with?

I saw a video that uses "Liquid Electrical tape" after googling, Amazon has some. but before i go ordering, what are your thoughts, or would you recommend something else.

Liquid electrical tape works a treat. Been using it for years without any problems. Can also get from Jaycar.
