Why can't I review all my lights in sequencer when a sequence is playing.

Im 3 weeks old into this xmas light thing. And basically I have 7 light set up at the front. Atm only have 5 on my layout as I wasn't sure if I would include the other 2. Its just shop brought lights ones.

On my layout I just have a simple 3 circles and 2 stings lights representing my lights at the front. If I'm not mistaken. Only 3 lights is going in preview? If so, why ain't the others coming up. As when I tested it, physically only 3 worked.

I'm sure I specifically asked for preview issues with xlights. But it seems you have to go through the entire sequence video to find a segment that mentions it. Cheers guys.

Apologies the way the title of my thread comes across. Just been trying to find the issue for a few days now. Worries me when Superman and Alan had already tried addressing it.

So you are sorted. I was never clear exactly what the problem was.

I looked at a few things, everything seems to be ok. Just troubles me everything doesn't play at the same time in preview. I have no problems playing it in 3s maybe 4s (I have 5 models) . The other day when I connected it up. 3 only played in preview. And in reality 3 physical models only played. Unless I wired it in my dmx wrong not sure.

Btw, thanks to you and all who put on these vids and I think you may have alot to do with xlights. Def have to do a donation. All I can think about these days is musical sequences. Can't wait to move up to the next stage like Pixel lights, rgb matrix and all the other stuff you guys chat about. Fiance even wants to sacrifice our honeymoom budget for lights next year lol.

I love working on musical sequences and thinking of songs to do. Haven't got a xmas song yet lol. 5 pop songs so far lol. I want to put togther something Australia and kiwi theme musical and a wwe ( wrestling theme mash up to the lights lol).

From the few posts I'm guessing that not all the elements/models you have aren't displaying on the xlights screen and also not actually lighting up?

Have you've made sure all the elements have been added to the layout properly and they are enabled - it's where you can set it's size. And that you're applying the effects onto each of the models. And that you have the preview screen when you click on the play button on the sequence.

Have another read through the xlights manual - Chapter 4 Layout - I had to read it a few times (and still do go back to it) to make sure all the models are set up correctly on the layout.

Superman set up my layout. But its been decades lol, hes dealt with a primitive system like mine lol. Omg, these manuals are killing me lol.

I resolved what I hope was Junior's last issue tonight (before I broke his sequences). The major issue was that 4 of the 2 wire lights were single channel 2 wire lights and not 2 channel/2 wire. This meant that for a lot of the sequencing the weird function of the 2 wire DMX2-18 and the single channel string had the light "off". Dropped the string back to a single channel string in xlights after a fair bit of testing with da_dmx and some puzzling and the lights are now blinking.

Yes you did fix it. But I was so devoed my sequences was stuffed. Even moped on the lounge and wanted to cry lol. Got up, fixed it all thank f, and now I know what it is. Think I'm finishing off some more songs. And hope this rain passes before tomorrow night. Cos its my playlist on loop 20 times ans drinks at the front with my neighbours and enjoy my lights.

THANK YOU ALAN! And every other helpful mofo on here. Al spent more than an hour on the team viewer sorting my stuff out. He was so mentally fartigued after it. He needed a cup of tea at 11 at night lol. Daniel aka Ellis whom must be trucking sick of me. Is a huge help.
