Iam new to here so please stick with me as I try.to explain my plans. Many moons ago I lit up every year but due to medical reasons gave it up for a number of years. I am better now and this is the second year that I have lit up again. I decided to invest in a raspberry pi3 model b and made some arches that I am using non addressable led lights on, the arches work yes but only with solid changing colours. I would like to get the arches chasing and have invested in a set of addressable led strip, can anyone help me to understand how to go about doing this. I also have arduino uno I am still learning.

Welcome Wayne, I'm about 30 mins from you. have leaping arches etc. could show you how it works etc and what u need if interested. Are you an entrant in the Christmas Light Spectacular competition which has a few houses from Jimboomba entered?

Yes we are an entrant in the Christmas Light Spectacular competition https://foto-app.appspot.com/app/foto/item/1683982578586406/5551600772317184 this is my house with the arches I made this year and a led strip just under the guttering. I am wanting to place a strip over the peaks of the roof that will chase as well as matrix screens and a pixel tree, naturally probably wont be able to do all at once but just to understand what is needed in order to be able to achieve that would be great.
